River Rafting : Water, being the biggest element in our body attracts us and river rafting can be an ideal fun-filled water sport. Facing the force of water with adventure is what rafting is all about. Around Delhi it can be done in Ganges. Rishikesh is famous for its white water rafting and few more river activities like kayaking, body surfing and small cliff jumps. The big river, big rapids, big waves is all a big experience in its own. The summer months are dry and warm,
and the Ganges, at this time of the year, invites swimming during the day and campsites under the starry night. In summers, approximately mid of May, the river swells huge and becomes almost impossible to raft. Another choice in summers can be Tonz, a distant location as compared to Rishikesh but can be a great experience.
Kayaking : Unlike rafting, kayaking is an individual activity.
One who has a fascination of exploring the river this is a trip for a lifetime. It needs skills and little substance. It can be done in Ganges at Rishikesh and Yamuna at Tonz.
Rock Climbing and Rapelling : Rock climbing and rapelling are broadly act of ascending and descending steep rocks. Dhauj is one of the most famous sites around Delhi for this adventure filled activity. Strength, endurance, and mental control are required to cope with tough and dangerous physical challenges. Knowledge of climbing techniques and the use of essential pieces of gear and equipment are crucial
Slithering : Literally it means to slide or glide like a reptile. Do not get confused, it is normally an adventure sport where one descents down the rope virtually taking no other support. It is usually done on river where you have 4-5 feet deep water and falling at the end in the water can be an ecstasy.
Hot air ballooning : Lesser practiced sport in India but is conveniently available in and around Delhi. For people who are fascinated by altitude and flying, ballooning is ideal and a great fun as well. It can be done in Delhi, Rajasthan, or probably any where that has free flying space.
Parasailing : Parasailing very truly fulfills the saying “flying without wings”. You get gently into the air and sit in comfort as the scenery glides by or try a fast and spectacular ascent followed by a gentle descent- the thrill factor is up to you. Parasailing is an exciting adventure for persons whether young or old to enjoy. So get a bird’s eye view of the clouds. It can be done at Dhauj, Corbett National Park, Dehradoon, and Manali.
Powered Paragliding : It is again getting gently into the air but this time you are propelled by a small engine with a pilot to take you for a thrill filled ride. It is generally 5-10 minutes of flight. It can be done at Sohna, near Gurgaon or at Corbett National Park.
