Located on and around five hills, Dalhousie has a credit of being a perfect destination for relaxing and rejuvenating. These hills are covered with thick oak, pine, and deodar (cedar) trees. The town geographically is a figure-of-eight, the northern side being the Thandi Sarak with a mesmerizing view of the valley and cool wind keeping the temperature of the road cooler than its counterpart. On the opposite side is the Garam Sarak with high mountains on one side and the city on the other, which keeps it cozier. It is a rare combination of a dramatic temperature change in a single hill station and this makes Dalhousie even more special. |
The most famous excursion from Dalhousie is to Khajjiar, one of the favorite destinations for Bollywood movies. With thick deodar trees surrounding a green lush ground with a Himalayan view is a real treat to one’s soul. Other places nearby Dalhousie are the Bhuvani Temple, Barah Pathar, Kalatop Resthouse etc. |
