FISHING AND ANGLING

Being one of the oldest means of spending time in leisure, angling is a great experience when it is carried out with us at India. Since always, India being a land of diversity in culture, tradition, and landscape it has been a priority for the travelers across the globe. From the Great Himalayas in the northern India to the lush green tropical grassland of the southern India, the Indian subcontinent has an innumerable free-flowing rivers and streams that sustain some of the richest cold water fishes and fauna; Mahseer being one of the most popularly known in the world along with a wide collection of cat fishes and trout. Each year a large number of anglers both from home and abroad visit this region in the pursuit of angling and practice age old techniques with varied degrees of success.

In the northern region of India, the presence of Ramganga, Chambal, Kali, Saryu, Tons, Sarda, Mandal rivers and snowfeds like Alaknanda, Bhagirathi, Yamuna, Beas and the Sutlej put forward great angling opportunities. An angler can chase the Yellowfin Mahseer at the foothills of the Himalayas, tackle the Giant Catfish or go for various species of trout. In the southern region of India, the ubiquitous Cauvery exhibits surprises like coracle rides and white water rafting, apart from species like the Humpback Mahseer and Carnatic Carp.

We have some specially designed programs for anglers both from the domestic and foreign land to make angling in India an experience of a lifetime in the only country in the world where one can tackle a fish in the morning and go for a wildlife safari to see one of the most delightful sights of a tiger in the afternoon.
