PIN VALLEY NATIONAL PARK

A close desert region in the Spiti valley, Pin Valley was declared national park in the year 1987. It covers the area of 675 sq. km. with an altitude variation from 3000 meters to 6000 meters. The most commonly used access point to the park is via Shimla, Tapri, and Kaza. It also provides an access via Manali, Rohtang pass, and Kumzum La

The Pin Valley National Park is famous for sighting Siberian ibex, snow leopard, bharal, wooly hare, Tibetian wolf, red fox, and snow cock. The bird species include chukor, snow partridge etc.

   
   

One can also witness Tibetian culture around the area of the park in Buddhist lamas, shrines, and monasteries.
